Rollin’ Along in 2008!
May 01, 2008 in Uncategorized
On April 20th, 2008 the chilly breezes subsided and the sun shone brightly for LGR’s wildly popular Annual Grumpy’s Roubaix event. Team members met at Grumpy’s Northeast and took about 30 local riders on a moderately paced tour of the twin cities most cobbled streets and alleyways. The ride is intended to mimic the Paris Roubaix, which is a race on the heavy cobblestone streets of the Paris countryside. After completing the ride, the group met back at Grumpy’s Downtown to watch the race on the bigscreen TV. This is one of LGR’s most fun and relaxed events of the year.
As the racing season begins, there have been LGR sightings all over the place –most notably on the podium. In 2008, LGR has had a rider on the podium in 8 out of 9 races. Jake Helmbrecht started us out with the Cold Bear Challenge Mountain Bike race series. The rest of the team has followed suit in area Crits and Road races. LGR is breaking all its own records so far in the 2008 season. Keep checking back as the season progresses.
Little Guy Racing would also like to send our well-wishes to Tim “Masi Guy” Jackson who suffered a terrible crash during a race at the San Diego Velodrome. Tim has been a supporter of our team since day one. His generous support comes through the Masi bicycles that we ride. If you have a moment stop over on his blog to check in on his recovery.
From all of us at LGR we would like to say, “Get Well Soon!”
